Now that WWDC is over and the countdown for OS X Leopard begins, I am preparing for my 11th E3 show. Normally E3 is held at the LA Convention Center in downtown LA–during the month of May. However, this year the event has been changed to an “invite only” show and is being held during the month of July in Santa Monica.

The event has also been renamed to the E3 Media Summit and is looking like it is going to be the biggest mess ever. Instead of E3 taking place at one central location, the folks behind the show have decided to let each company host their own private showcase in hotels all around Santa Monica. You must also make an appointment with each company.

How long will it take to get between hotels? Will this format give us more hands on time with the games? Can we just go back to the old format?

Regardless of the questions about the event and the mixed feelings I have about the new format, E3 is still happening in July. You can read all the coverage on E3 over at CVGames.com

Now if you will excuse me, I have to go plan for the show. I am getting a headache just thinking about all the scheduling conflicts… *sighs*
