Here is a quick photo update of Lucy!

1.26.08 The Daily Lucy

My sister likes to send out emails called The Daily Lucy and put shots of my little monkey girl in it. I also grabbed a few from her Xanga blog as well. With Lucy coming up this week, expect to see a lot more shots of her.

What a great trip Em, my mom, and myself had seeing Lucy, PB, Michael, and their family and friends. I have uploaded several photos for you all to view. These include:

12.23.07 Meeting Lucy for the First Time
After leaving around 8:30 AM in my mom’s fully packed Envoy, Emily, myself, and my mom journeyed to Virden, Il to spend Christmas with Michael, PB, newborn little Lucy, and their family in the area. We arrived sometime around 11:30 PM the same day. We were very tired and Lucy was ready for bed. So we waited until the next morning to get our first shots of Lucy. Here are those pictures.

12.24.07 Lucy with Bare Head
Emily got her wish shortly after we arrived in Virden, IL when little Lucy appeared with a bare head. Before anyone could put a hat or bow onto her head, we snapped these photos!

12.24.07 Christmas Eve with Toller Family
On Christmas Eve Michael, PB, Emily, Mom, Lucy, and me drove to Larry and Kenett Toller’s house (Michael’s mom and dad). We opened Christmas presents with his parents and his sister, Bekah, and his Aunt April. When the dust settled and all presents had been opened, these pictures were taken.

12.25.07 Rochester Shots
After seeing a beautiful lake with a bunch of birds in it and some beautiful smoke the day before, I promised myself I would take pictures of it if I drove by it again. Sure enough, the next day, on the way to Christmas day lunch/dinner, we went the same route and these pictures were taken in the car going about 40 to 50 MPH from the passenger seat.

12.25.07 Christmas Day at the Toller House
The second day of our trips to the Toller house, we came with a ton of food my mom prepared through most of the night. I cooked the Turkey and we ate all sorts of goodies, watched Brian Regan on DVD, played some Xbox, and opened stocking gifts we all got each other. Although my finger was a bit tired from all the shots I have been taken the past several days, I continued snapping away and ended up with these photos.

12.27.07 Lincoln Library
Up to this point on our trip to see Michael, PB, and little Lucy, the weather had been extremely pleasant. However, the 27th of December brought in some bitter cold weather. Despite it being freezing, we ventured out to the Lincoln Library to learn more about our 16th President and the Civil War. This cold front also brought a brutal cold that would plague me into the new year… My mom and dad also went here a few years ago. I took a picture of a street corner that he was photographed walking and holding my mom. This is a photo I have framed so the intersection means a lot to me.

Also, on the splash image for these photos, you will see me giving Lincoln bunny ears. There was a worker who wanted to beat the crap out of me when he saw me doing this. Was it a bit disrespectful? Sure. But how often do you get to give Lincoln bunny ears? In my defense, there is also a regular picture with myself and Em with Lincoln and his family. But I do think I prefer the bunny ears :)

A few facts about Lincoln. Did you know that Lincoln was not a member of any church? However, he did appear to have a relationship with our Heavenly Father. But he struggled with wondering if the Civil War was the judgment of God on the country. Also, Tom Hanks, the actor, is a second or third cousin to Lincoln.

Finally, the Lincoln Library pretty much refuses to allow guests to take pictures. So I only could snap a few shots in the main hallway of the Library. Oh well, at least I could get that Bunny Ear shot :)

12.27.07 Lucy Poses
After our trip to the Lincoln Library and to dinner, we came back to Michael and PB’s house for some photos of Lucy by herself and with PB. Lucy did great in these shots. However, by the end of our session, you will be able to see she is getting fussy. So we had to quit for the night and put off the rest of our shots until the next day.

12.27.07 Uncle Kaleb Holds Lucy
After a long hard day of wearing bows and other miscellaneous items on her head, Uncle Kaleb comes to the rescue and saves Lucy for a little snuggle time.

12.28.08 Lucy Poses More
During our next photo shoot, I was really sick with my cold and I don’t recall directing these shots very well. The only thing I was thinking about was lying down so my head wouldn’t explode. Fortunately Em, my sister, and my mom were there to direct and I pulled the trigger on the photos.

These shots include little Lucy with her “Pappy Bear.” This is a special bear my mom had built at our local Build a Bear and is made in the image of my dad. She gave the bear to Lucy with a poem and chair for him to sit on so she would know about her “Pappy” when she gets a little older.

As you can imagine, these are some pretty emotional shots. However, I find the lighting and how “Pappy Bear” is looking down on Lucy, for some of the shots, is probably what my dad is doing now. At least that is what I believe.

12.29.07 Last Lucy Shots of 2007
On the morning we left to head back home, we snapped a few last photos–one of which is my favorite one taken with little Lucy. These shots also showcase the Monkey slippers I bought for Lucy. While these are the last shots I took of Lucy in 2007, I look forward to snapping many more photos of her in the years ahead.
